Workshop
Opera masterclass with Audrey Saint-Gil
Audrey Saint-Gil
Audrey Saint-Gil has been one of the most important vocal technique and style coaches in the world of opera for over two decades. In addition to her visible work as a conductor and pianist at the highest level, she works behind the scenes with some of opera’s biggest stars, helping to prepare roles, troubleshoot problems and offering guidance in achieving faultless style in romantic French and Italian opera while providing the vocal tools to ensure health and longevity in the business.
Her private client list, past and present, has included Freddie de Tommaso, Erwin Schrott, Louise Alder, Olga Peretyatko, Christopher Maltman, Hera Hysung Park, Maria Bengtsson and Angela Meade, among many others. Her unique ability to walk between the differing facets of the world of opera, both on stage and behind the scenes, allied with her long experience in both vocal instruction and orchestral conducting, place her at the cutting edge of operatic training in 19th and 20th century romantic repertoire.
Audrey Saint-Gil’s Masterclasses focus on the application of classical Italian technique to achieve not only true legato in vocal production, but also to arm singers with the ability to channel their emotions through that technique and express themselves both freely and beautifully upon the operatic or recital stage. The insights provided aim to elevate performance and technical ability to the very highest professional level, and to inspire and energize singers to pursue their vocal passion to their absolute limit.
